SAN JOSE, Calif. --- Cody Miller shot rounds of 76 and 73 and is currently tied for 21st place to lead the Sacramento State men’s golf team during the first day of play at the SCU Invitational at the Silver Creek Valley Country Club.As a team, the Hornets sit in 10th place with a two-round total of 607. Host Santa Clara shot 575 and holds a two-stroke edge over Loyola Marymount atop the leaderboard. Saint Mary’s and Boise State are tied for third at 578 while Cal State Northridge is fifth at 593.
Individually for Sacramento State, Chad Wood is tied for 32nd with back-to-back rounds of 76. Brian Little is tied for 41st at 77-76-153, Patrick Miller is tied for 44th at 75-79-154 and John Bowen is tied for 48th at 76-79-155.
Brian Locke of Loyola Marymount is the leader following the first two rounds after shooting 64-68-132. Graham DeLaet of Boise State is second, five strokes back with scores of 69-68-137.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with a single round.
