SEASIDE, Calif. --- Junior Margaux Sheehan shot rounds of 78 and 77 to finish in a tie for first place at The Golf Mart/Lady Otter Invitational, Tuesday afternoon at the Black Horse Golf Course. Sheehan tied with Kiilani Matsuyoshi of Hawai''i following 36 holes. Matsuyosi eventually claimed the individual title in a playoff.Sacramento State finished fourth in the tournament as a team with a total of 324-324-648. Cal Poly won the event with a two-round score of 638. Chico State (646) was second and UC Riverside (647) was third.
Aside from Sheehan’s strong individual effort, the Hornets were also aided by Kathryn Cotter who tied for 13th at 83-79-162. Jennifer Parkes shot 83-83-166 to tie for 25th and Kim Coppin fired rounds of 84-85-169 to tie for 33rd. Jacqueline Markley Friedman rounded out the Sacramento State golfers by shooting 80-91-171 to tie for 37th.
