EL MACERO, Calif.— The Sacramento State men’s golf team finished tied for 10th after the first day of the Aggie Invitational, Monday afternoon at the El Macero Country Club.UC Davis leads the tournament after rounds of 284 and 294 (578), one stroke ahead of Chico State (579). Florida Golf Coast University and St. Edward’s University (586) are tied for third while Hawai’i-Hilo (588) rounds out the top five. The Hornets are currently 28 shots off the lead with a final score of 606.
Individually, St. Edward’s Brian Noonan claims the top spot with scores of 68 and 70 (138) to finish one shot better than D.J. Fernando (CSUB) who is in second with scores of 69 and 70 (139). Scott Gordon of UC Davis (140), Shane Prante of St. Martin’s (142) and J.J. Jakovac of Chico State (143) round out the fop five spots. The Hornets were led by Brian Little (74-73-147) who is tied for 18th.
The final round of the tournament will begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
