LAKE SAN MARCOS, Calif. --- Sophomore Courtney Cotter shot 75 in the second round to finish in a tie for second place at the Aztec Invitational on Tuesday at Lake San Marcos Country Club. Kansas’ Jennifer Bawana was the medalist with a two-round total of 148. Cotter and Shayna Miyajima of San Diego State tied for second at 149.As a team, the Hornets finished in sixth place. Texas Tech rallied to win the team title, edging Kansas by four strokes. San Diego State and Cal State Northridge tied for third followed by Colordao State.
Christy Ferrero was the only other Sacramento State golfer to finish in the top 20. Ferrero shot 82-76-158 to tie for 19th.
The Hornets will next be in action on March 3-4 in Goodyear, Ariz. The tournament will take place at the Palm Valley Golf Club and be hosted by Montana State.
