GOLF CONCLUDES PLAY AT BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIPS

ST. GEORGE, Utah --- The Sacramento State men's golf team placed fifth and the women seventh at the 2002 Big Sky Conference Championships at the Sunbrook Golf Club.

Weber State captured the men's title while Northern Arizona brought home the women's title.

Individually, Katie Jacobson of Montana was the women's medalist after shooting rounds of 78, 76 and 76. The men's medalist honors were claimed by Blair Bingham of Weber State who shot 69-75-67.

The Hornet men were led by senior Bill Hurwitz who tied for eighth place. Craig Callens tied for 12th place to round out the team's top-15 finishers.

On the women's side, freshman Tracy Nichols, who tied for 15th, was the lone Hornet in the top 15.

The Big Sky Championships marked the final event for both teams this season.
