LAKE SAN MARCOS, Calif. -- Behind a pair of sub-300 rounds, UCLA cruised

to the team title at the San Diego State Fall Classic. The Bruins

finished the three-round event with a score of 905, 30 strokes better

than second-place Colorado State. Sacramento State finished 14th with a

score of 1006.

Johanna Anderson, Melissa Martin and Leilani Bagby sparked the Bruins by

occupying the top three sports. Anderson shot 68-78-77-223 to claim

medalist honors. Martin and Bagby tied for second with a total of 229.

The Hornets were led by Courtney Cotter. The sophomore shot 84-82-83-249

to tie for 51st place. Senior Erin Brannigan (89-82-79-25) tied for 54th

and senior Denise Andrew (85-82-85-252) tied for 59th.

Sacramento State will next be in action at the Big Sky Championship. The

tournament will be hosted by Cal State Northridge an held at the River

Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard, Calif., from Nov. 2-3.
