SIMI VALLEY, Calif. -- The Sacramento State men’s golf team concluded

the Countrywide Home Loans Intercollegiate in fourth place Tuesday

afternoon at the Wood Ranch Golf Club. UC Irvine maintained its first

day lead and cruised to the team title. The Anteaters shot 886 as a

team, 13 strokes better that second place Stanislaus State. Austin Peay,

Sacramento State and Arizona State’s JV team rounded out the top five.

Individually, Jeff Coburn claimed the medalist honors after defeating

Stanislaus State’s Ian Lillibridge in a playoff. Both players shot

identical rounds of 72-72-71-215.

Bill Hurwitz led the Hornets by tying for eighth. After shooting rounds

of 73 and 77 on Monday, Hurwitz fired a 75 in the final round. Tanner

Makimoto and Phillip Cuthbertson tied for 14th with a three-round mark

of 226.
