MEN'S GOLF HOSTS SEVENTH ANNUAL SACRAMENTO STATE INVITATIONAL STARTING MONDAY

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The seventh annual Sacramento State Invitational returns to Valley Hi Country Club on Mon.-Tue., March 4-5. The first day is scheduled for 36 holes with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with a single round which will also have a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

The 2019 tournament will feature 15 teams and 12 individuals which hail from California, Utah, Nebraska, Arizona, Utah, Washington and British Columbia. Grand Canyon has won the last two team titles. The Lopes won the event in 2017 after finishing at 2-under par. Last season, the team rallied to draw even with Long Beach State and was awarded the team title based on the tie-breaker. Cal State Fullerton is the highest ranked team in the field as the Titans are currently 80th in the Golfstat listing. GCU is also the defending team champion having one last year's event with a total of 2-under par.

The Sacramento State lineup will consist of Riley Bell, Joe Fowler, Jeff Carr, Ethan Davidson and Christian James. Devyn Fitchhorn, Eric Olsem and Josh Diaz will also both compete as individuals.

The tournament is open to the public and is free.
