MEN'S GOLF SELECTED TO WIN THE AMERICA SKY

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
The Sacramento State men's golf team was tabbed to win the America Sky Conference by Golfweek. Along with the team honor, Cody Bates was picked as the "Freshman to Watch" by the magazine.

The Hornets enter the spring portion of its schedule ranked 117th in the nation which is the best among America Sky Conference teams. Sacramento State is trailed in the poll by Hartford, Northern Colorado, Southern Utah, Binghamton, Weber State and North Dakota.

The America Sky Championship will take place April 25-27 at Greenhorn Creek Resort in Angels Camp, Calif., with Sacramento State serving as the host. The Hornets will be looking for their second ASC title in the last three years.

Sacramento State's fall schedule was highlighted by a team title at the Dash Thomas Memorial in Eagle, Idaho. Bates had two top 15 finishes during the four events.

Sacramento State opens play on Jan. 27 at the Anteater Invitational in Costa Mesa, Calif.
