SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State men's golf team added the first member of its 2013 recruiting class with the signing of Robbie Parden to a National Letter of Intent, it was announced by head coach Christopher Hall.
Parden, who is currently a senior at Saratoga High School, will enroll as a freshman in the fall.
"We're excited to have Robbie join our team. He's a strong kid who hits the ball far," Hall said. "He's very competitive with good energy and will be another key to our team in the future."
In his first three seasons of high school golf, Parden was a three-time Santa Clara Valley Athletic League MVP and two-time league champion. He will enter his senior season riding a 34-match medalist streak and has finished under par in 12 consecutive matches.
This past summer, Parden played on the Junior Golf Association of Northern California tour. In six stroke-play events, he finished among the top seven in five. He tied for second at both the Del Rio Bumgardner Junior Memorial and the Shoreline Junior Classic. His low round of the summer was a 2-under par 70 at Del Paso Country Club.
