2017-18 Season
One of two Hornets to start all 32 games…served as a team co-captain along with Marcus Graves…was a second team all-District 6 and second team all-Big Sky Conference selection…became just the second Hornet to be named all-conference on three occasions (Dylan Garrity was named all-league four times) since Sacramento State joined the Big Sky prior to the 1996-97 season…Strings was a second team all-league choice as a junior, and honorable mention selection as a sophomore…finished the year averaging 17.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.9 blocked shots and 36.2 minutes per game while shooting 43% (223-522) from the field…scored in double figures in 30 of the 32 games…that included 11 games with at least 20 points, highlighted by a 34-point game vs. Portland State, a 31-point game vs. Montana State, and 30 vs. Northern Colorado in the regular season finale…made 157 trips to the free throw line (4.9 per game), and his 17.9 points per game ranks as the third best single-season mark in Sacramento State’s Div. I era…had scored in double figures in 47 straight games from Dec. 29, 2016 to Feb. 17, 2018, but had that streak snapped at Northern Arizona with two weeks left in the regular season…that had been the fifth longest active streak in the nation for consecutive double figure efforts…still, Strings scored in double figures in 50 of the final 52 games of his career…named Big Sky Player of the Week on Jan. 2…ranked first in the Big Sky in minutes, fifth in scoring, rebounding and defensive rebounding (5.6 per game), and 10th in blocked shots…in conference play, he bumped his scoring average to 19.5 points per game (4th in the league) while ranking first in minutes played at 37.9 per game…established himself as one of the greatest scorers in Sacramento State history, finishing with 1,570 points…that is the top mark in Sacramento State’s Div. I era (1991-pres.), and the second best mark in program history (1948-pres.)…in 70 years of basketball at Sacramento State, only one player scored more points than Strings: Robert “Money” Martin scored 1,774 points during the Div. II era from 1985-89…after averaging just 0.8 points in 4.2 minutes per game as a freshman, Strings scored 482 points (15.5 ppg) as a sophomore, 494 (15.9 ppg) as a junior, and 573 (17.9 ppg) as a senior…in program history (1948-pres.), he ranks second in points (1,570), minutes (3,260) and field goals made (584), third in field goals attempted (1,313), tied for third in games played (119), fourth in rebounds (622) and free throws attempted (399), eighth in 3-pointers made (145) and starts (83), ninth in free throws made (257) and blocked shots (68), and 10th in 3-pointers attempted (415)…had four double-doubles during the season and finished with 12 in his career, the second best mark in Sacramento State's Div. I era…a Big Sky All-Academic selection for the fourth straight year.

2016-17 Season
Named second team all-Big Sky Conference after appearing in all 31 games, including 30 starts…was the Hornets’ leading scorer at 15.9 points per game…led the team in scoring on 10 occasions…scored in double figures in all but two games, including each of the final 20 games of the season…had eight games with 20-plus points, and he scored in double figures in all 18 Big Sky games, and both Big Sky Tournament contests…had season averages of 15.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 32.9 minutes per game while shooting .422 (179-424) from the field and .350 (55-157) from the 3-point line…finished 11th in the Big Sky in scoring and 17th in rebounding…had a season-high 29 points at Montana, which coincided with the Hornets’ first-ever win in Missoula…named the Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week on Dec. 5…in conference play, he bumped his averages to 17.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting .478 (119-249) from the field and .398 (33-83) from the 3-point line…his 17.0 points per game average was the 11th best mark in the Big Sky, and nearly three points higher than any other Sacramento State player…had three double-doubles…a Big Sky All-Academic selection for the third straight season.

2015-16 Season
An honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection after playing in all 31 games, including 21 starts…started the final 20 games of the season, and 21 of the last 22 games…the team’s leading scorer, Strings was consistently the Hornets’ best player all year, finishing with averages of 15.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.8 blocked shots and 31.5 minutes per game…he shot .492 (174-354) from the field, .395 (60-152) from the 3-point line and .771 (74-96) from the free throw line…scored in double figures in 28 of the team’s 31 games, including each of the final 12, and 24 of the final 25 games of the season…had five double-doubles, led the team in scoring on 14 occasions, and committed just 29 turnovers in 976 minutes played (one turnover every 33.7 minutes)…among Big Sky leaders, he ranked ninth in rebounding, 10th in blocked shots, 12th in field goal percentage, 3-point field goal percentage and free throw percentage, and 13th in scoring and 3-pointers made per game (1.9)…in conference play, he upped his averages to 16.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game…led the team in scoring in both Big Sky Tournament games, scoring 25 points in the Hornets’ first round win over Montana State…posted a season-high 26 points at North Dakota…had seven games with at least 20 points…career high of 14 rebounds came at Weber State…had double figures in rebounds on five occasions…a Big Sky All-Academic selection for the second straight year.

2014-15 Season
Played in 25 games as a true freshman…averaged 0.8 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 4.2 minutes per game…shot .615 (8-13) from the field…scored in eight games, including a season-high six points against Bristol…played in each of the Hornets’ final 11 games of the season…played a season-high 14 minutes in a home win against Northern Colorado where he finished with two points, a season-high four rebounds and an assist…also played 10 minutes in the Big Sky Tournament against Portland State, and in the season opener at Gonzaga…made each of his final five field goal attempts of the season, and his last missed shot came on Dec. 21 at Seattle…a Big Sky All-Academic selection.

High School

A 2014 graduate of Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif…played four years of basketball for the Mustangs, including three seasons on the varsity squad…as the team captain during his senior season of 2013-14, he was named first team all-CIF Division 2AA, first team all-Southern Section, first team all-Bay League and first team all-area…that season, he averaged 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game while shooting .490 (178-363) from the field and .735  (97-132) from the free throw line…as a junior in 2012-13, Strings helped lead Mira Costa to a 20-win season and a semifinal appearance in the 2013 CIF Southern Section Div. 2AA semifinals…he was a first team all-Bay League, first team all-area and second team all-section choice after averaging 14.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocked shots per game while shooting .497 (157-for-316) from the field…in addition, he went to the free throw line 171 times during the season, good for an average of 5.5 trips to the stripe per contest…of his 228 total rebounds, 80 came on the offensive glass…Strings helped the Mustangs post a 3-1 record at the 2013 section tournament, and in those four games, he averaged 17.5 points and 9.3 rebounds while shooting .566 (30-53) from the field and .625 (5-8) from the 3-point line…that included a 24-point performance in the section semifinals…as a sophomore in 2011-12, he was a second team all-league selection and the team’s most improved player after helping the Mustangs to an 18-10 record while posting averages of 8.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game…academically, Strings was a member of the Principal’s Honor Roll and was recipient of Athletic Scholar honors his final two years of high school.
