Currently riding a three-game winning streak, Sacramento State (9-11, 5-6) returns to The Nest on Monday evening to host Southern Utah (1-19, 0-11)…tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m…Monday will wrap up a season-long four-game homestand in which the Hornets are 3-0 thus far…the three-game winning streak is the longest since Sacramento State began last year with three consecutive wins…the Hornets have also won four straight games at home, the longest home winning streak since the 2005-06 squad ripped off seven straight home wins…Sacramento State is attempting to go 4-0 on a four-game homestand for the first time since the 1981-82 season…should the Hornets win on Monday, it would be the program's fifth winning streak of four games or longer since joining the Div. I ranks in 1991-92…during the current winning streak, the Hornets are averaging 83.0 points on .491 shooting from the field, .475 from the 3-point line and .782 from the free throw line…the winning streak includes the 75-footer by Dylan Garrity in overtime to defeat Weber State, 78-75…video of that shot went viral and gave Sacramento State a tremendous amount of national attention…the Hornets are now 7-2 at home this season, and 4-1 in league play…that one loss came in overtime to Portland State…the Hornets are 17-6 at home dating back to last year…after beginning the conference season at 0-3, the Hornets have won five of their last eight games…Southern Utah has lost 19 straight games, but the Thunderbirds continue to get better, having lost each of their last six games by single digits…the Hornets defeated the Thunderbirds in Cedar City earlier this year by a 77-49 score…that 28-point margin of victory was the largest in a road game during Sacramento State's Div.
