Big Sky Conference standings

Sacramento State (6-11, 2-6) begins a season-long four-game homestand on Thursday against Idaho State (7-10, 4-4)…tip-off at The Nest is set for 7:05 p.m…the Hornets just completed a ruthless early-season Big Sky schedule that saw the team play six of its first eight conference games on the road…the six road games tie Southern Utah for most in the league thus far…the Hornets finally get some love from the schedule makers beginning on Thursday as the team will play four straight, six of eight, and eight of their final 12 games inside the friendly confines…as a whole, the Big Sky has been dreadful on the road as the league's 11 teams have combined for a 9-36 road record in league play, and only one team has more than one road win…not shockingly, the two teams with the most home games thus far (Northern Colorado, Weber State) take up the top two spots in the league, and the teams with the most road games (Sacramento State, Southern Utah) sit in the bottom two spots…the Hornets are 4-2 at home, and 2-9 on the road…one of those two home losses came in overtime two weeks ago to Portland State…Sacramento State is 14-6 at home dating back to last year…the Hornets are 6-2 when scoring at least 69 points, and 0-9 when scoring 68 or less…Idaho State has lost four of its last six, but each of those losses have come by seven points or less…in fact, of the team's 10 overall losses, eight have come by eight points or less…ISU is 1-7 on the road, and has dropped seven straight away from home…in a series filled with a ridiculous amount of nail biting outcomes, Idaho State owns a 26-15 record against the Hornets…both games between the two teams last season were decided by one point with each team winning on its home floor…four of the last six meetings in Sacramento between the two teams have been decided by one point, and one of the non one-point outcomes was a 72-69 Hornet victory during the 2008-09 season…overall, the Hornets are 8-12 when playing the Bengals in Sacramento…like every home game the rest of the season, Thursday's contest can be seen live and free in High Definition on WatchBigSky.com…the game can also be heard over the airwaves on KTKZ 1380 AM The Answer and on the internet at hornetsports.com with 17th year play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling the game…live stats are at hornetsports.com.
