Fresh off a grueling 68-64 overtime loss at home to Portland State on Thursday, Sacramento State (5-9, 1-4) returns to the hardwood on Saturday night for a matchup with Eastern Washington (7-9, 2-3)…Saturday will mark just the Hornets' second home game of the conference season, and the game will tip inside The Nest at 7:05 p.m…five games into the conference season, Sacramento State is the only member of the Big Sky to have already played four league contests on the road…not only did the Hornets lose on Thursday to Portland State, they also went 0-for-14 from the 3-point line which snapped a string of 561 consecutive games with at least one made 3 ball…that streak dated back to 1993…Sacramento State has now dropped each of its last five overtime games dating back to the 2010-11 season…the Hornets are 3-2 at home this year, and 13-6 inside the friendly confines dating back to last year…the Hornets' loss on Thursday snapped a 20-game road losing streak for Portland State that dated back almost two full seasons…now the Hornets will turn their attention to an Eastern Washington squad which has also struggled on the road…the Eagles are 0-8 on the road, and have lost nine straight road contests dating back to last season…Sacramento State swept the season series between the two teams last year, and the Hornets have won three straight against the Eagles overall…that is the longest current winning streak against any Big Sky team for Sacramento State…overall, the Hornets are 12-26 all-time against EWU, and 9-10 when playing the Eagles in Sacramento…Eastern Washington's current squad is second in the Big Sky in scoring (73.9 ppg), but also allows the third most points in the league at 75.0 per contest…Eastern Washington is led by sophomore guard Tyler Harvey who is second in the conference with an average of 20.6 points per game…in conference play, he easily leads the league with a 23.6 ppg scoring average…like every game the rest of the season, Saturday's contest can be seen live and free on WatchBigSky.com…all Hornet home live streams are now provided in High Definition…the game can also be heard over the airwaves on KTKZ 1380 AM The Answer and on the internet at hornetsports.com with 17th year play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling the game…live stats are also available via hornetsports.com.
