Sacramento State (4-7, 0-2) will play the third leg of a four-game road trip to begin the conference season when the team travels to Flagstaff for a matchup Thursday at Northern Arizona (4-9, 1-1)…tip-off at Walkup Skydome is set for 5:35 p.m. PST…the Hornets opened the conference season last week by falling at Montana State (70-55) on Thursday, and at Montana (82-70) on Saturday…of the five Big Sky teams to begin the conference schedule last week with a pair of road games, four went 0-2…the only exception was Northern Arizona, which won at Montana before falling at Montana State…the Hornets are the only team in the 11-member league that will play each of their first four Big Sky games on the road…Sacramento State will also play this Saturday at Southern Utah…the Hornets are looking to improve their conference record for the fifth straight year (1-15 in 2008-09, 3-13 in 2009-10, 4-12 in 2010-11, 5-11 in 2011-12, and 8-12 last season)…Sacramento State is 1-6 on the road this year and has dropped four straight on the road after its lone victory away from home on Nov. 26 against rival UC Davis…the Hornets' 82-70 loss at Montana on Saturday marked the first time this year the team lost when scoring at least 69 points (4-1)…Northern Arizona's 73-65 win at Montana last week snapped the Grizzlies' 31-game home win streak in league games…NAU then lost on a buzzer beater, 68-66, Saturday night at Montana State…prior to the victory at Montana, the Lumberjacks had lost five of their last six games…NAU is 2-1 at home, including wins over Grand Canyon and non-Div. I San Diego Christian…Northern Arizona owns a 32-10 all-time series record against Sacramento State, and has won 16 of the last 17 meetings between the two teams…the Hornets are 2-19 when playing in Flagstaff, with the last victory on NAU's home floor coming on Feb. 26, 2005 (a span of nine straight losses)…the game can be heard over the airwaves on KTKZ 1380 AM The Answer and on the internet at www.hornetsports.com with former Hornet women's basketball radio announcer J.D.
