MEN'S HOOPS TRAVELS TO POCATELLO FOR THURSDAY TILT WITH IDAHO STATE

GAME PREVIEW

Coming off a win at Eastern Washington in which the Hornets overcame a 10-point halftime deficit, Sacramento State (8-6, 3-3) will play the third leg of its season-long four-game road trip Thursday at Idaho State (3-12, 2-4)…tip-off at Holt Arena is 6:05 p.m. PST…Sacramento State concludes the road trip Saturday at Weber State…the Hornets' 8-6 overall record is the team's best mark after 14 games since the 2005-06 squad was 9-5…in addition, the 3-3 record after six league games is the top mark since the 2005-06 squad began the conference season with a 4-2 record…Sacramento State is 3-4 on the road, and with one more road victory would match the program's highest road win total (4) since the 2005-06 squad won seven road games (last year's team also won four road games)…overall, the Hornets are currently fourth in opponents' points per game (67.8) and fifth in scoring offense per game (69.4), and are one of just three teams to rank among the Big Sky's top six in both categories (Weber State and Montana are the others)…Sacramento State currently has four players averaging better than 11 points per game, and haven't finished a season with four or more players averaging double figures in points since the 2006-07 season…though the Hornets are 8-6, the team is looking for its first winning streak since beating Central Arkansas and Dominican on Nov. 24th and 27th, respectively…Idaho State had its two-game winning streak snapped Monday with a 70-54 home loss to Weber State…the Bengals are 2-1 at home this year, including an 86-63 win against Northern Colorado on Jan. 5… the Hornets are 14-25 all-time against Idaho State, including a 7-13 mark when playing in Pocatello…in the Hornets' regular season finale last year, Joe Eberhard drained a three-pointer with 1.3 seconds left to deliver a 70-67 win over ISU in Pocatello…overall, six of the last nine meetings between the two teams have been decided by five points or less…like every Big Sky game, Saturday's contest can be seen live and free on Big Sky TV…the game can also be heard on the internet at www.hornetsports.com with 16th year play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling all the action…live stats will be provided at www.isubengals.com.
