Men's Basketball

After an 87-69 loss at Portland State on Thursday, Sacramento State (7-6, 2-3) will play the second leg of its season-long four-game road trip on Saturday at Eastern Washington (4-11, 2-3)…tip-off at Reese Court is 6:05 p.m…the game will be televised on SWX (Sports and Weather Right Now), which is a station that serves the eastern Washington and northern Idaho areas…after winning their first two road games of the season, the Hornets have dropped four straight away from home…that includes Thursday's game which saw Portland State knock down three-pointers on seven consecutive possessions in the second half to break open what had been a close game…after Saturday's game at Eastern Washington, the Hornets conclude the road trip next week at Idaho State on Thursday and Weber State on Saturday…the game at EWU will also end a stretch that will have seen the Hornets play three times over a six-day span…despite Thursday's loss, Sacramento State's 7-6 overall record is still the program's best after 13 games since the 2005-06 squad was 8-5…each of the Hornets' first four conference games had been decided by seven points of less prior to Thursday's loss at Portland State…after scoring at least 70 points during each of the team's first seven games of the season, Sacramento State has failed to reach the 70-point plateau in its last six games…the Hornets have used the same starting lineup in five straight games (Dylan Garrity and Mikh McKinney at guards, Joe Eberhard and John Dickson at forwards and Konner Veteto at center)…Eastern Washington snapped a two-game losing streak on Thursday after beating Northern Arizona at home by an 82-59 score…the Eagles are 3-3 at home, and 1-8 away from home…the Hornets are 10-26 all-time against Eastern Washington in a series which dates back to 1994…that includes a 2-16 mark when playing the Eagles in Cheney…however, one of those wins for the Hornets in Cheney came last season in a 75-71 victory…in 2010-11, the Hornets fell in overtime in Cheney…overall, Sacramento State has won three of the last five meetings between the teams…like every Big Sky game, Saturday's contest can be seen live and free on Big Sky TV…the game can also be heard on the internet at www.hornetsports.com with 16th year play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling all the action…live stats can be found at www.goeags.com.
