MEN'S HOOPS CONCLUDES ROAD TRIP SATURDAY AT WEBER STATE

GAME PREVIEW

Coming off the most heartbreaking loss of the season Thursday night at Idaho State, Sacramento State (8-7, 3-4) will look to rebound on the road against Weber State (12-3, 7-0)…tip-off at the Dee Events Center is 6:05 p.m. PST…the Hornets fell at Idaho State, 60-59, letting a 10-point second-half lead slip away…the Hornets missed the front end of a 1-and-1 free throw situation with nine seconds left before ISU's Tomas Sanchez banked in a running 10-footer in the waning seconds…the Hornets are now 3-4 in league play, but could just as easily be 5-2 as the team has dropped one-point decisions to both Idaho State and Montana…in fact, of the Hornets' seven conference games thus far, six have been decided by seven points or less…Sacramento State now finds itself in a five-way tie for fourth place in the league standings…Weber State and Montana are both 7-0, and only 1.5 games separate the third place and 11th place teams in the standings…the Hornets' 8-7 record is still the team's best mark after 15 games since the 2005-06 squad was 10-5…Saturday's game will conclude a season-long four-game road trip that has seen the Hornets go 1-2 thus far…overall, Sacramento State is 3-5 on the road, and one more road victory would match the program's highest road win total (4) since the 2005-06 squad won seven games (last year's team also won four road games)…Weber State has won eight straight games, and has not lost since Dec. 15…the Wildcats are 7-1 at home, and 3-0 against conference teams inside the Dee Events Center, including an 83-70 win against Northern Arizona on Thursday night…Weber State has owned the Hornets over the years, compiling a 33-4 all-time record against Sacramento State, including 10 straight victories in the series…the Wildcats are also 18-1 when playing the Hornets in Ogden, Utah, with the Hornets lone win coming on Jan. 14, 2006…like every league game, Saturday's contest can be seen live and free on Big Sky TV…the game can also be heard over the airwaves in the foothills on KAHI 950 AM and on the internet at www.hornetsports.com with play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling the action…live stats for the game can be found here.
