Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Kelly Golob tallied 17 points and 10
rebounds in leading the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks to a 63-45 Big Sky
victory over the Sacramento Hornets at Hornet Gym.
Ryan McDade added 15 points and eight rebounds, as Northern Arizona (12-9, 3-5
Big Sky) claimed its third win in four outings. Stephen Garnett delivered 13
points for the Lumberjacks, while Aaron Bond grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds
to go with nine points.
Derek Lambeth led Sacramento State (8-13, 2-6) in defeat with 12 points
accompanied by five rebounds. Brandon Guyton registered 11 points and another
five boards for the Hornets, who have lost two games in a row and five of
their last six.
Sacramento State shot just 30.8 percent from the floor in the first half, as
it fell behind 29-19 at the break.
The Hornets' field-goal accuracy plummeted to 21.4 percent for the second
stanza, opening the door for Northern Arizona's 18-point rout.
The Lumberjacks shot only 39.6 percent from the field in the contest, but did
sink 42.1 percent (8-of-19) of their three-point attempts. Sacramento State
hit on just 25.9 percent from the floor, including a mere 20 percent (3-of-15)
from beyond the arc.
