Cheney, Washington (Sports Network) - Brendon Merritt scored 17 points to lead
the Eastern Washington Eagles to a 75-41 victory over the Sacramento State
Hornets in a Big Sky Conference battle.
Chris Hester added 12 points and Alvin Snow contributed 10 points for Eastern
Washington (12-6, 4-0 BSC), which has a five-game winning streak.
Raashad Hooks scored a team-high nine points and Derek Lambeth chipped in
eight points in defeat for Sacramento State (7-9, 1-2), which has a two-game
losing skid.
The Eagles sprinted out to a 28-12 lead, eventually going into the
intermission with a 35-20 edge.
Eastern Washington scored 15 of the first 17 points in the second half en
route to the 34-point victory.
The Eagles shot 55.3 percent from the floor in the contest while holding the
Hornets to only 29.6 percent. Eastern Washington also outrebounded Sacramento
State, 40-26, and forced it into 19 turnovers.
