Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Keith Kincade scored 14 points, leading
four players in double figures, and helped lead the Loyola-Marymount Lions to
an 88-55 win over the Sacramento State Hornets from Gersten Pavilion.
Wes Wardrop added 13 points, Andy Osborn and Sherman Gay 10 apiece in the win
for the Lions (2-0)
The Hornets (0-1) were paced by Brandon Guyton, the only player on the team in
double figures with 15 points in the losing cause.
The teams traded leads through the early stages of the first half, but a 16-8
run to close the period provided the Lions with a 45-30 advantage at the
break.
In the second half the Lions added to their lead, holding the Hornets to just
three points over the final five minutes of play, to claim the 33-point
victory.
Loyola-Marymount hit 47.7 percent from the field in the contest, compared to
just 30.6 percent for Sacramento. The Hornets, in a desperate attempt to get
back into the contest, missed all seven of their three-point attempts in the
second half and finished the game 4-of-18 from long distance overall.
