Missoula, MT (Sports Network) - Ryan Slider tallied a game-high 18 points as
the Montana Grizzlies routed the Sacramento State Hornets 86-53 in a Big Sky
Conference battle at the Adams Center. The lopsided victory snapped a two-
game losing streak for Montana (12-13, 6-6 Big Sky), while Sacramento State
has lost two in a row and six of its last seven.
Slider connected on 7-of-13 shots from the field and added six rebounds and
three assists. Travis Greenwalt contributed another 15 points and seven
boards, while David Bell chipped in 10 points. The Grizzlies recorded 21
assists in the game and burned up the nets with 50.7 percent shooting from the
field.
Sacramento State (9-16, 3-8) was led by Rashaad Hooks with just nine points on
the night. Cedric Thompkins grabbed a team-high 10 boards and also pitched in
eight points. The Hornets shot just 30.6 percent from the floor, and made only
5-of-20 three-point attempts.
Montana jumped out to an early lead in the game, assuming a 22-15 advantage
with 8:18 left to play in the half. The Grizzlies then closed the opening
stanza on a 16-6 run that inflated their lead to 38-21 at halftime.
The Grizzlies put the game out of reach quickly in the second half with a
30-17 run that buried the Hornets.
