Appeared in 12 games during his freshman campaign, averaging 1.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 6.5 minutes per game...shot 40.0 percent (8-20) from the field and nine of his 19 rebounds came on the offensive glass...had four points and four rebounds in a season-high 18 minutes at USC...season high of six points came against William Jessup...had two points and three rebounds at Rice.

High School
A 2009 graduate of South Elgin High School in Illinois...played four years of basketball, including three seasons with the varsity squad...also played one year of football during his freshman season...was the starting center during his last two years with the team, and part-time starter as a sophomore...during his senior season, he helped lead the team to a 19-9 overall record and an appearance in the regional playoffs after averaging 7.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots per game...as a junior, he averaged 8.2 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.4 blocked shots per game...named the team’s most improved player that season...the first year of South Elgin High School’s existence coincided with his freshman year.

Born Nov. 21, 1990...parents are Gerardo and Veronica Lopez...a business major...along with Hornet teammate Brad Johnstin, he trained in 2009 with Full Package Athletics in Illinois.
