MEN'S BASKETBALL DISMISSES FRESHMAN CHRIS ARMSTRONG

1/22/2001

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--The Sacramento State men's basketball program

announced today that freshman Chris Armstrong has been dismissed from

the team. Armstrong, a 6-4 guard, came to Sacramento State from

Calvary Temple High School in Modesto, Calif.

"This decision is not based on one incident," head coach Jerome

Jenkins said. "There are certain expectations that have been placed

on each member of this team. Chris has shown a pattern of choices

that are not up to these expectations."

Armstrong has averaged 3.5 points and 1.2 assists per game while

appearing in 10 of the team's 16 contests this year.
