MEN'S HOOPS TRAVELS TO WEBER STATE FOR SEASON FINALE

Entering its final game of the 2008-09 season, Sacramento State (2-26, 1-14) travels to Weber State (19-8, 13-1) on Saturday, Feb. 28, for a 6:05 p.m. PST tip...the game features zero playoff implications as Sacramento State has been eliminated from Big Sky Conference Tournament contention and Weber State has clinched the league’s regular season championship and the right to host the conference tournament (March 7-11)...the Hornets enter the game looking to snap a seven-game losing streak while the Wildcats have won 10 straight...six of those 10 victories during Weber State’s winning streak have come by double digits...the Wildcats are 9-2 at home this season while the Hornets are 0-15 on the road...these same two teams met in Sacramento on Jan. 22 when Weber State used an 8-0 run late in the second half to break a 50-50 tie, and eventually defeat the Hornets, 67-59, in a tightly contested game (see box on page 16)...Weber State owns a 26-4 record in the all-time series against Sacramento State, including a 14-1 mark in Ogden, Utah...Saturday will mark the final game in the Sacramento State careers of seniors Randy Adams, Loren Leath and Donald Thomas...Leath needs 26 points to become the 29th player in Big Sky history to amass 1,500 career points...Leath also has 237 career three-pointers, which is four treys shy of cracking into the top five in conference history...Saturday’s game can be seen live and free via webcast at www.bigskytv.org...the contest can be heard live locally on KRJY 1240 AM, and on the internet at www.hornetsports.com with 12th year play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling the action.
