MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYS FINAL HOME GAME SATURDAY AGAINST MONTANA STATE

With just four games remaining on the schedule, Sacramento State (2-23, 1-11) will play its final home contest of the season this Saturday, Feb. 14, against Montana State (11-11, 5-6) at 7:05 p.m...prior to the game, Hornet seniors Loren Leath, Randy Adams and Donald Thomas will be honored for their contributions to the program...with a loss Saturday, the Hornets will be mathematically eliminated from Big Sky Tournament contention...the Bobcats, who were defeated at Northern Arizona, 83-64, on Thursday, are tied for fifth place in the Big Sky with Idaho State at 5-6...the top six teams in the nine-member conference reach the Big Sky Tournament (March 7-11)...the Hornets are coming off a 60-48 home loss to Montana on Thursday, and are now 2-10 inside the friendly confines...Montana State defeated Sacramento State, 61-42, earlier this season in Bozeman (see box score on page 16)...MSU owns a 20-12 all-time record against Sacramento State...however, the Hornets are 8-6 against the Bobcats in Sacramento, including eight wins in the last nine meetings between the two teams at the Nest dating back to the 1999-00 season...the only loss during that span came in 2005-06...Saturday’s game can be seen live and free via webcast at www.bigskytv.org...the contest can be heard live on KRJY 1240 AM, and on the internet at www.hornetsports.com with 12th year play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling the action.
