MEN'S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO EASTERN WASHINGTON ON THURSDAY

After completing a season-long four-game homestand, Sacramento State (2-20, 1-8) jumps back on the road this Thursday, Feb. 5, when the team travels to Eastern Washington (9-13, 3-7) for a 7:05 p.m. tip...each of the Hornets’ last three games have been decided by eight points or less after the first 19 games were each decided by double figures...that includes a 72-69 victory over Idaho State on Jan. 24, and a 66-59 loss to Northern Colorado on Jan. 29, where the Hornets were outscored, 8-0, over the final 3:40...the Hornets and Eastern Washington faced each other earlier this season in Sacramento (Jan. 4) where the Eagles won, 87-74...Eastern Washington now owns a 21-7 all-time record against Sacramento State, and has won six in a row dating back to 2006...since joining the Big Sky in 1996-97, the Hornets have never beaten Eastern Washington in Cheney, Wash...that includes a 1-12 record in Cheney with the only victory occurring during the 1994-95 season...since that win, the Hornets have lost 11 straight in Cheney...Eastern Washington (3-7) and Sacramento State (1-8) are the bottom two squads in the nine-team Big Sky Conference...Thursday’s game can be seen live and free via webcast at www.bigskytv.org...the contest can also be heard live locally on KRJY 1240 AM, and on the internet at www.hornetsports.com with 12th year play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling all the action.
