MEN’S BASKETBALL FIRST-ANNUAL ALUMNI GAMES SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 24

1/14/2009

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento State men’s basketball program will host its first-annual Alumni Games on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 24, inside the Hornets Nest before the current team takes on Idaho State that evening at 7:05 p.m.

The men’s basketball program at Sacramento State began in 1948, and head coach Brian Katz would like to get as many former Hornet basketball players involved as possible. The first alumni game will see members of the 1950’s teams take on players from the 1960’s at noon. Players from the 1970’s will take on the 1980’s players at 1 p.m., and the 1990’s players will face the 2000’s players at 2 p.m.

Every alumni player participating will get free admission to the Hornets’ game that evening at 7:05 p.m., and prizes will be available during the day’s festivities. Any player who played at least one season for the Hornets during their collegiate careers is welcome to play.

Admission to the alumni games is free to all spectators.

If you would like to play for your decade's team or for more information, contact Travis Okamoto at mbbops@csus.edu or (916) 278-6780.
