WHERE ARE THEY NOW? FORMER HORNET MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS PLAYING PROFESSIONALLY

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Seven former Sacramento State men’s basketball players are currently playing professionally overseas. In fact, each is playing in a different country, spanning Puerto Rico, Portugal, Belgium, Romania, Australia, Poland and Germany. Below is a look at where each player is now, as well as a list of all former Sacramento State players to play professionally over the last 10 years.
ANGEL ALAMO (2006-07)
Entering his first season with the Caguas Criollos of the Superior League of Puerto Rico. This is the top league in Puerto Rico. In his only season at Sacramento State (2006-07), Alamo appeared in all 29 games, including 17 starts (fourth most on the team). That year, he posted averages of 9.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocked shots in 23.3 minutes per game while shooting 48.1 percent (111-231) from the field and 82.1 percent (64-78) from the free throw line.
JASON DAVIS (2006-08)
Was just signed by the Torres Vedras Fisica Desportiva of the UZO Liga of Portugal. This is the top league in Portugal. Davis finished his two-year career in a Hornet uniform last season. Davis averaged 7.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in 2007-08 while shooting a team-best 55.6 percent (55-for-99) from the field. The high flyer also averaged one trip to the free throw line every 4.3 minutes of playing time, easily the top mark on the team.
PABLO GONZALES (1999-01)
Pablo Gonzales has enjoyed an impressive professional career, that has seen him play in Belgium since 2001. He has played for the Okapi Aalstar of the Belgian Basketball League since 2003. Prior to Okapi, he spent two seasons with the Gent Dragons of the Belgian Basketball League, which is the top league in Belgium. During his two-year career with the Hornets, he averaged 13.1 points per game, and buried 94 three-pointers over that span. He was also the team’s second-leading scorer in both 1999-00 and 2000-01.
HARON HARGRAVE (2005-07)
Recently signed with the BC Tirgu Mures Tigers of the Romanian Basketball Division A. This is the top league in Romania. During his senior season with the Hornets (2006-07), Hargrave led the team in points per game (13.8), free throws (119), free throws attempted (145) and free throw percentage (.821). Among Sacramento State’s Div. I (1991-pres.) career leaders, Hargrave ranks fifth in free throws made (201) and eighth in free throws attempted (247) despite playing only two seasons.
SEAN HOUSTON (1996-99)
Has played overseas since concluding his Sacramento State career. That includes stops in Chile and Australia. Has played in Australia since 2004. Currently in his second season with the Mandurah Magic of the State Basketball League in Australia. Finished his three-year Hornet career with averages of 10.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, and is sixth in Sacramento State history with 481 career rebounds. Houston is still the last Hornet to average double figures in rebounds, when he posted 10.7 per game during his 1997-98 season.
JOEL JONES (2001-04)
Recently signed with the Politechnika Poznanska of the Polish Basketball League. This the top league in Poland. Prior to that, Jones spent time with the Puerto Rican National Team at the 2007 Pan American Games, the Ponce Lions of the Super League of Puerto Rico, the BG Karlsruhe of the German First Division, the Shangdong Jinsidun Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association and the Bayamon Vaqueros of the Superior League of Puerto Rico. Became the first Sacramento State basketball player named to a national team squad when he was selected to the Puerto Rican team in 2007. Played for Sacramento State in 2001-02 and 2003-04 (redshirt in 2002-03) and was named Big Sky honorable mention all-conference both years. Finished his Hornet career with averages of 12.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocked shots per game.
DAVON ROBERTS (2004-07)
Recently signed with the Braunschweig Medien Baskets of the German Pro B Basketball League. In his first game with Braunschweig last weekend, he tallied 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. Roberts spent the first three years of his collegiate career at Sacramento State where he had a career field goal percentage of .525 (104-for-198). During his junior season (2006-07), he averaged 4.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 0.9 blocked shots in 14.4 minutes per game. That year, he shot a team-best 59.3 percent (51-86) from the field, setting the Sacramento State Div. I (1991-pres.) single-season record for field goal percentage.
