MEN'S HOOPS PLAYS FIRST OF TWO REMAINING HOME GAMES THURSDAY VS. ISU

GAME PREVIEW

Sacramento State (4-21, 2-12) plays the first of just two remaining home games this Thursday, Feb. 28, against Idaho State (10-17, 7-7) at 7:05 p.m. inside the Hornets Nest...the Hornets will play their final three game of the season over a five-day span, including Thursday, Saturday (March 1) at UC Davis, and Monday (March 3) at home against Weber State...Sacramento State will not be playing in the Big Sky Tournament for the second straight season after reaching the event four consecutive years (2002-06)...with a win on Thursday, Idaho State, which sits in a three-way tie for fourth place in the Big Sky standings, would clinch a spot in the Big Sky Tournament (the top six teams in the nine-member league advance)...the Bengals lost at home in overtime to Montana last Sunday in controversial fashion...the three officials in that game (Eric Curry, Bob Scofield and Scott Harris) were each suspended one game on Monday for a misapplication of rules during the closing seconds of regulation that could have cost Idaho State a win...Sacramento State is 9-21 all-time against Idaho State, including an 86-63 loss in Pocatello earlier this season...ISU has won four straight games over the Hornets spanning parts of three seasons...the Hornets are 4-11 against the Bengals in Sacramento...Sacramento State is 4-7 at home this season, including a 78-77 victory against Montana State and 74-70 against Northern Colorado...Thursday’s game will be an internet broadcast only via www.hornetsports.com...the game will not be aired on the Hornets’ flagship station (KSAC 1240 AM) because of a scheduling conflict...live stats can be found at www.hornetsports.com, and live video of the game can be obtained for a fee at www.bigskytv.org.
