MEN'S HOOPS TRAVELS TO MONTANA STATE ON SUNDAY

Sacramento State (4-19, 2-10) concludes its trek to the Montana schools this Sunday, Feb. 17, when the team travels to Bozeman to face Montana State (14-10, 6-5) at 1:05 p.m. PST...the game will be aired live locally on Comcast SportsNet West, and on Altitude Sports & Entertainment with former Montana head coach Don Holst (1998-02) and Bill Riley calling all the action...the contest is Altitude’s Sunday Game of the Week...Sacramento State and Montana State played a thriller in Sacramento earlier this year (Jan. 10), when Justin Williams hit a baseline jumper with 4.6 seconds remaining to give the Hornets a 78-77 victory...Montana State leads the all-time series, 15-11...Sacramento State’s Jerome Jenkins is 10-6 against Montana State since he took over the head coaching duties in 2000-01...that includes a 7-1 record at home and 3-5 on the road...five of the last six meetings in Bozeman between the two teams have been decided by six points or less...the Hornets defeated Montana State in Bozeman during the 2006 Big Sky Tournament Quarterfinals...the Hornets will be playing on Sunday for just the second time this year (other coming in a 77-65 home loss to Santa Clara)...the Hornets are 0-12 on the road this season, and have lost 19 straight on the road dating back to last season...that includes 12 straight road losses to Big Sky teams...a loss on Sunday would mathematically eliminate Sacramento State from Big Sky Tournament contention...the team has advanced to the postseason event four times in the last five years...Sunday’s game can also be heard live on both KSAC 1240 AM and www.hornetsports.com with 11th year play-by-play man Steve McElroy calling all the action.
