SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State men’s basketball program added to its 2004 recruiting class with the signing of guard/forward Jonathan Toliver to a National Letter of Intent, it was announced by Hornets’ head coach Jerome Jenkins today. Toliver will enroll as a freshman at the University in the fall of 2004.Toliver, a 6-4, 195-pound swingman from Inglewood, Calif., helped lead Los Angeles’ Westchester High School to the city and state championship in both 2002 and 2003. As a senior, Toliver was named first team all-city after averaging 14.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
“Coming from a Westchester High School team that finished 12th in the nation (USA Today), Jonathan brings a winning attitude to the program,” Jenkins said. “He’s a fearless competitor who understands the game well, and we’re bringing him in to be one of our three-point shooters as a freshman.”
