SACRAMENTO, Calif.--The Sacramento State men’s basketball squad will serve as host for the Hal Wolf Memorial Golf Classic, scheduled to take place Monday, May 5.The golf tournament, which will take place at the Northridge Country Club, is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
Coach Wolf, the tournament’s namesake and the men’s basketball coach for the Hornets from 1953-56 and again from 1958-59, passed away recently after a long bout with cancer. During his career at Sacramento State, he posted the best winning percentage of any men’s basketball coach in school history.
“While we are proud of the accomplishments of this year’s basketball team, we are also grateful to those who set the groundwork and paved the way for current success,” head coach Jerome Jenkins said. “By naming the tournament in his honor, we hope to continue our efforts in connecting with our past while focusing on a strong and successful future.”
Cost to play in this fundraising event is $175 per player or $700 for a foursome. In addition to golf, each player will receive a gifts, dinner and beverages while on the course. There will also be prizes awarded for the top foursomes in the tournament.
Tee sponsorships, as well as company sponsorships that include tee sponsorships and a foursome in the tournament, are available as well.
