SACRAMENTO, Calif.-- The Sacramento State men's basketball team
completed its late signing period recruiting when it inked Jimmy
White to a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday. A 6-6 forward, White
played the past two seasons at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster,
Calif.
"I am very excited to have a player like Jimmy White coming in," head
coach Jerome Jenkins said. "I recruited him out of high school and
know that he will be a perfect fit for what we are trying to do here.
"He is strong around the hoop but has the ability to step out and
make the 15-to-18 foot jumper. Although he is 6-6, he is very
athletic and plays like he is 6-8."
As a sophomore, White averaged 21.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
He ended the season tied for 13th among all California junior college
players in scoring. White also shot the ball well from the floor,
making 243-of-474 attempts (51.3 percent). He also connected on
32-of-82 three-point attempts (39.0 percent)
White joins Chris Lange and Leo Cravey who committed during the early
signing period and Raashad Hooks and Joel Jones who committed on
April 11.
