An excellent athlete, Baker made the switch from running back to receiver prior to last season…coaches praise his development and believe he has yet to reach his potential…worked at both RB and WR in the spring.
2005 Season: Named honorable mention all-Big Sky as a special teams player…appeared in all 11 games, starting five…named Most Improved on the team…ended the year with 11 receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown…also had one rush for six yards…caught two passes against Northern Arizona, Azusa Pacific, Montana State and Montana…top yardage performance came against APU where he amassed 48 yards and a touchdown…that total included a 32-yard reception…had seven kickoff returns for 136 yards (19.4) to rank second on the team…had a 43-yard return against Idaho State which was the third-best on the team during the year…tallied five tackles on special teams.
2004 Season: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
High School: A 2004 graduate of Long Beach Poly High School…named first team all-Moore League after rushing for 1,153 yards during his senior season…scored 22 touchdowns and added a pair of two-point conversions for 134 total points…top rushing game came against Compton HS where he had 153 yards on eight carries…also had a season-long 96-yard run against Compton…rushed for at least 100 yards in three-straight games…scored four touchdowns in the win over Long Beach Wilson HS…team finished the year 11-3 overall…recorded 41 receptions for 604 yards and five touchdowns…was an All-American in the high jump as a junior…cleared 6’9” in 2003.
