The most experienced member of the receiving corps, Coogler will lead the unit in 2007…needs just six catches to move into the career top 10 for receptions at Sacramento State…has caught a pass in 22 of his 23 games as a Hornet…is a two-time Big Sky all-academic selection…was one of five transfers from Saint Mary’s prior to the 2004 season.

2006 Season: Played in the team’s first game at Boise State before sitting out the rest of the season due to injury…had one catch for an 11-yard gain against the Broncos.

2005 Season: Named honorable mention all-Big Sky…was voted the team’s Most Valuable WR/RB by his teammates…led the team with 45 receptions and 441 yards…caught a pass in all 11 games and had at least four grabs in six games…established career highs in the Causeway Classic against UC Davis where he had eight grabs for 72 yards…followed that effort with a 63-yard performance in the win over Northern Arizona…in that game, he had a 58-yard touchdown reception and averaged 31.5 yards per catch…had six catches for 54 yards against Idaho State…also had six receptions at Cal Poly…accounted for five of the team’s 11 receptions of at least 25 yards…all five of those catches came in different games…began the season as the team’s kick returner and had five returns at Cal…only returned two other kicks the remainder of the season…tallied two solo tackles at Cal Poly.

2004 Season: Appeared in all 11 games, starting nine…ranked second on the team with 28 receptions for 254 yards…those numbers only trailed All-American Fred Amey…also added two touchdowns and played a vital role on special teams…top receiving game came at Idaho State where he had six catches for 57 yards…grabbed four passes for a season-best 60 yards and a touchdown in the win over Weber State…other touchdown came in the Causeway Classic against UC Davis to give Sacramento State a 23-22 lead…caught at least one pass in 10 of his 11 games…had five catches against Northern Arizona and four receptions in the win over Southern Utah…as a kick returner, returned nine balls for 129 yards…long of 36 yards came at Montana…also had three tackles on special teams, including two on punt coverage at Nevada.

Saint Mary’s: Spent one season at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif…appeared in all 12 games for the Gaels as a wide receiver…was the team’s top kick returner with 26 returns for 588 yards…top return was for 46 yards at Drake…caught 12 passes for 107 yards…had three receptions against Sacramento State for 47 yards and also had three catches at Lehigh for 19 yards…credited with 13 rushing attempts for a total of nine yards…had four tackles and one interception against Southeastern Louisiana.

High School: Graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Berkeley, Calif., in 2003…competed in football, basketball and track…named first team all-Bay Shore Athletic League as a senior…also earned all-academic honors from the North Coast Section…was the team’s offensive MVP as a senior.

Personal: Born 5-23-86…graduated with a degree in finance in May 2007 and is currently in graduate school…parents are Ira and Joselyn Coogler.
