Will anchor the middle of the defensive line during his senior season…a very intense player who is strong against the run…originally committed to San Diego State before coming to Sacramento State in the spring of 2006.

2006 Season: Earned second team all-Big Sky honors as a defensive tackle…played in, and started, 10 games during his first season with the team…had 40 tackles in the middle of the line…tied for third on the team with three sacks…ranked fourth on the squad with 9.0 tackles-for-loss…biggest game came against Montana State where he had nine total tackles (5-4), including 4.5 tackles-for-loss…that total included a pair of sacks for a combined loss of 12 yards…also had a sack at Montana…had two pass breakups during the year…forced a fumble in the win over Weber State…had at least one tackle in all but one of his games…had three-plus tackles in eight games, including seven against Northern Colorado and six against Portland State.

Junior College: Played two seasons at Grossmont JC…named first team JC Gridwire All-America in 2004…two-time first team all-Foothill Conference…was the Foothill Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore…had 62 tackles, including 11 sacks that season…also forced five fumbles that year…had 51 tackles, including seven sacks, as a freshman…Grossmont was 24-2 during his two years…considered one of the the top 30 defensive line prospects in the country (high school and junior college combined) by Scout.com.

High School: A 2001 graduate of Helix High School…named all-San Diego Section, all-county and all-league…Helix posted a 13-0 overall record and won the section title…had 84 tackles, including 15 sacks as a senior…played as an inside and outside linebacker…began his high school career at Serra HS.

Personal: Born 1-27-83 in Honolulu…majoring in communication studies…parents are Benson and Mouna Mauga…was also recruited by Arizona, Oregon State and Arizona State.
