Coaches describe King as the most athletic defensive back…has shown the ability to get to the ball….began last season as a receiver before being shifted to DB.
2006 Season: Appeared in all 11 games as a true freshman…tallied 26 total tackles, including 20 solos stops…intercepted his first career pass at Eastern Washington…that pick came in the end zone just prior to halftime in the team’s 21-20 victory…had six tackles against Cal Poly for his season high…had five stops against Northern Colorado and four at EWU…finished the season with three pass breakups.
High School: Graduated from San Francisco’s St. Ignatius High School in 2006…played four years of football and also ran track for two seasons…named honorable mention all-metro, second team all-Central Coast Section and first team all-West Catholic League as a senior…also named the WCAL Utility Player of the Year…was an honorable mention all-WCAL selection in 2004…caught 42 passes for 680 yards and 11 touchdowns during his senior season…best game came against Aptos HS in the first round of the CCS playoffs where he had five grabs for 100 yards and two receiving touchdowns…also returned a punt for a score in that game.
