Worked his way into the linebacker rotation early in the season…will conted for a starting role and will also continue to back up Tyson Butler in the middle…will also be counted on to play on special teams.
2005 Season: Appeard in all 11 games during his first collegiate season…ended the year with 22 total tackles (11 solo, 11 assisted)…best outing came at Portland State where he had five stops, including three solos…also had five tackles (two solo) in the win over Azusa Pacific…recorded four tackles against Eastern Washington…had a half tackle-for-loss against Cal and Portland State…played primarily at middle linebacker but also saw some action on special teams…was used as a fullback in short-yardage situations on offense.
High School: A 2005 graduate of Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo, Calif…played both running back and linebacker for the Dons…helped lead the team to a 9-2 overall record and its first Hayward Area Athletic League title in 15 seasons…as a running back, he broke the 25 year-old HAAL career record wtih 2,839 yards…as a senior, he rushed for 1,299 yards and 25 touchdowns…best game came against Bishop O’Dowd where he rushed for 148 yards, scored a touchdown with 23 seconds remaining and added the game-winning two-point conversion to give the team a 21-20 victory…his TD run also allowed him to break the HAAL record…on defense, he recorded 132 total tackles in 2004 and was described by his former coach as the most intuitive defensive player he ever coached…was named the San Francisco Chronicle East Bay Player of the Year and a first team all-metro linebacker.
