Returns as the team’s starting place kicker…is also the returning leading scorer on the team…has a strong leg…coaches believe if he improves his consistency he could be one of the best in Div. I-AA.

2005 Season: Led the team in scoring with 40 points…was 6-of-12 on field goals and 22-of-23 on extra points…made his last 14 extra points during the year…began the season by making his first three field goal attempts, including 41 and 42 yarders at Portland State…the 42-yard field goal came as time expired in the first half…also made a 36-yard field goal against Northern Arizona…kicked off 31 times, averaging 51.8 yards…had two touchbacks.

2004 Season: Sat out the season as a redshirt…made one extra point at Nevada but suffered a quad injury which kept him out for the rest of the year.

High School: A 2004 graduate of Bellarmine Prep in San Jose, Calif…ranked as the second-best kicker in the country by SuperPrep and the sixth best by Rivals.com…earned a spot in the “Top 12” at the Chris Sailor Kicking Combine…in that national competition, he was named the best kickoff specialist…made all 30 of his extra points as a senior and also connected on a career-long 55-yard field goal…earned all-league and all-state honors as a junior and senior…also named All-America after each season…was one of two kickers to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas…that game was televised nationally on NBC.

Personal: Born 4-15-86…a communication studies major…also recruited by USC and Washington State…parents are Juan and Patricia Gamboa.
