Prior to Sacramento State: Attended Butte JC in Oroville, Calif., for three years…played tight end for the Roadrunners in 2006 and 2008 and redshirted in 2007…was a member of the team which posted a 12-0 record and won the state title in 2008…named JC All-America, all-state, all-region and all-league that season after grabbing 19 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns…also earned academic all-state honors during his final season…was a teammate of current Hornet Augie Heath.
High School: Graduated from Chico HS in 2006…as a senior, he caught 72 passes for 928 yards and seven touchdowns…earned all-state, all-Northern Section and all-Eastern Athletic League honors that season…had a streak of four consecutive 100-yard games…grabbed 10 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns against Foothill HS for his season best…also had 138 receiving yards and a TD against Red Bluff HS…also garnered all-EAL and all-Northern Section accolades as a junior after catching 49 passes for 757 yards and seven scores…recorded a career best 142 yards on eight catches against Red Bluff HS…was a member of the Panther basketball team which won a pair of Northern Section titles.
