High School: Graduated from Cardinal Newman HS in 2009…was a standout linebacker and running back for the Cardinals…as a senior, he helped lead the team to a 13-1 overall record with their only loss coming against St. Bonaventure HS in the state Div. III title game…earned first team all-state honors at linebacker for Div. III following the season…was also named NorCal Div. III Player of the Year, North Bay Regional Player of the Year and all-Metro linebacker by the San Francisco Chronicle and co-MVP of the North Bay League that year…recorded 76 total tackles in 2008 and had four games with 10-plus tackles…rushed for 1,486 yards on 146 carries (10.18 per carry/106.1 per game) and 13 touchdowns…also caught 32 passes for 418 yards and two touchdowns…as a junior, he earned first team all-NBL honors on defense and was a second team selection on offense after rushing for 599 yards and making 88 total tackles…team produced a 37-5-1 overall record during his three varsity seasons and won a pair of North Coast Section Div. II titles…twice earned NCS scholar-athlete recognition.
