After playing his first season with the Hornets at linebacker, Evans will return to safety for the 2008 campaign…will likely continue his role on special teams as well.

2007 Season: Appeared in 10 games at linebacker for Sacramento State…recorded at least one tackle in each of the first six games…had a career high four stops at Portland State, including three solos…also had a sack against the Vikings…recorded a TFL against Northern Arizona.

Junior College: Earned third team All-America honors by JC Gridwire following his sophomore season at Sacramento City JC...was named the 2006 Mid-Empire Defensive MVP and garnered first team all-league honors...finished the year with 53 total tackles (32 solo)...also had 3.5 tackles-for-loss, eight interceptions, two pass breakups and one forced fumble...played for former Hornet head coach Mike Clemons and defensive back Dannie Walker at Sacramento City.

High School: Graduated from Jesuit HS in 2004…played three years of varsity football for the Marauders…was named to the Sacramento Bee’s all-metro team following his junior and senior seasons…was the Delta League Defensive Player of the Year as a senior…had 70 tackles and four interceptions that year…also played wide receiver and led the team with 940 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns…Jesuit won the league title both years and was the Sac-Joaquin Section champions his junior season.

Personal: Born 10-9-85...a criminal justice major...parents are Ross and Karen Evans.
