Gamboa will serve as the team’s opening day placekicker for the fifth straight season…has led the team in scoring the last three years…could also contend for the starting job at punter.

2007 Season: Earned honorable mention all-Big Sky accolades for the first time during his career…led the team in scoring for the third straight season with 49 points…converted on 22 of his 24 extra point attempts and also made nine field goals…made his first 12 extra points of the season…made 40-yard field goals against Northern Arizona, Montana State and Eastern Washington for his long of the year…also served as the team’s punter in two games…averaged 38.6 yards per punt on 10 attempts…had a 48-yarder against Montana for his long and placed two punts inside the 20-yard line against the Grizzlies…averaged 65.4 yards per kickoff and had nine touchbacks with only two kicks going out of bounds…finished the season with three solo tackles on kick coverage.

2006 Season: Led the team in scoring with 44 points…converted nine field goals and made 17 extra points…made six of his final seven field goal attempts during the season, including a career long of 48-yards in the victory at Idaho State…made three field goals at both Idaho State and UC Davis…against ISU, he made kicks from 48, 35 and 39 yards…two of his three misses during the year were from 44 yards or longer…made his first 14 extra points before finally missing…bounced back to make his final three…averaged 59.0 yards per kickoff…had 12 touchbacks, including four at Idaho State…did not put a kickoff out of bounds.

2005 Season: Led the team in scoring with 40 points…was 6-of-12 on field goals and 22-of-23 on extra points…made his last 14 extra points during the year…began the season by making his first three field goal attempts, including 41 and 42 yarders at Portland State…the 42-yard field goal came as time expired in the first half…also made a 36-yard field goal against Northern Arizona…kicked off 31 times, averaging 51.8 yards…had two touchbacks.

2004 Season: Sat out the season as a redshirt…made one extra point at Nevada but suffered a quad injury which kept him out for the rest of the year.

High School: A 2004 graduate of Bellarmine Prep in San Jose, Calif…ranked as the second-best kicker in the country by SuperPrep and the sixth best by Rivals.com…earned a spot in the “Top 12” at the Chris Sailor Kicking Combine…in that national competition, he was named the best kickoff specialist…made all 30 of his extra points as a senior and also connected on a career-long 55-yard field goal…earned all-league and all-state honors as a junior and senior…also named All-America after each season…was one of two kickers to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas…that game was televised nationally on NBC.

Personal: Born 4-15-86…an organizational communication studies major…also recruited by USC and Washington State…parents are Juan and Patricia Gamboa.
