ZACK NASH NAMED SECOND TEAM ALL-AMERICA BY ASSOCIATED PRESS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State junior Zack Nash earned second team All-America honors by the Associated Press it was announced today. Nash was one of eight Big Sky Conference players to be placed on the first or second team and becomes just the fifth Sacramento State player to earn the honor from AP in the school's Div. I-AA/Football Championship Subdivision era.
The defensive end started all 11 games and led the Big Sky in both sacks and tackles-for-loss. The Vacaville, Calif., native tallied a school-record 13.0 sacks and 16.5 tackles-for-loss during the season. During the year, he was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week after recording a conference and school record 5.0 sacks.
Following the season, Nash was a unanimous first team all-Big Sky selection. The only other Hornet players to be recognized by the Associated Press are Ryland Wickman (3rd team, 1998), Charles Roberts (1st team, 1999), Jon Osterhout (2nd team, 1999), and Anthony Daisley (3rd team, 2000).
