FOOTBALL HOSTS FINAL SCRIMMAGE ON SATURDAY MORNING

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State football team will close training camp on Saturday, Aug. 29, with its final scrimmage before opening the regular season. The team will take the field around 9 a.m. and will begin the scrimmage at 9:50 a.m. and is expected to run about 55 plays.
The team received a rare day of non-contact practice on Friday, spending most of the two-hour session working on special teams. The Hornets open the regular season at UNLV on Saturday, Sept. 5.
QUARTERBACK CLUB LUNCHEONS BEGIN MONDAY
The first Quarterback Club luncheon will take place on Monday, Aug. 31. The luncheons will be held at El Patron (6601 Folsom Blvd.) and cost $10 for a buffet. Head coach Marshall Sperbeck will be joined by select players during the weekly event.
