SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State football team signed nine student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, it was announced today by Hornet head coach Marshall Sperbeck. The group, which is comprised of one junior college transfer and eight high school seniors, will join seven other transfers that enrolled at the University in January to raise the recruiting class to 16 total members.
Wednesday's class is made up of six offensive players and three defensive standouts. The offensive players are linemen David Born and Chad Tannenbaum, running backs Sam McCowan and Deontray Johnson, and receivers Morris Norisse and Brandyn Reed.
Sacramento State's commitment to recruit locally was also evident at three of the nine signees played in the Sac-Joaquin Section and six of the nine are within a 120-mile radius of Sacramento.
