THREE HORNETS EARN ALL-AMERICA HONORS BY THE FOOTBALL GAZETTE

WESTMONT, Ill. - Sacramento State seniors Charles Roberts and Anthony

Daisley and junior Terence Wagner each earned All-America honors by

Dan Hansen's Football Gazette it was announced today. Roberts was

named to the first team, Wagner garnered second-team honors and

Daisley earned honorable mention.

Roberts, who is now a three-time All-American, became the most

prolific rusher in NCAA Division I-AA history and ended his career

with 5,633 yards. The Montclair, Calif., native rushed for 1,624

yards and 14 touchdowns to help lead the Hornets to a 7-4 overall

record and a 5-3 mark in the Big Sky Conference this past season.

During his four-year career, Roberts set or tied nine national

records, eight Big Sky marks and 20 Sacramento State records. The 5-6

tailback owns the national single-game (409 yards), single-season

(2,260 in 1998) and career (6,533) records. Roberts, who was named

co-Most Valuable Player of the Big Sky in 2000, has also been named

to the Associated Press and The Sports Network All-America teams this

season.

Wagner, who was a unanimous first team all-Big Sky selection in 2000,

has started all 33 games in his career at center for the Hornets. The

Sacramento, Calif., native was the lone veteran on a young offensive

line that emerged as one of the best in the league.

Daisley completed his second year with the Hornets by leading the

team with 100 tackles. The Rialto, Calif., native was a first team

all-Big Sky selection after recording 19 tackles-for-loss including

six sacks. The outside linebacker becomes just the second Sacramento

State defensive player to earn I-AA All-America honors - joining

linebacker Ryland Wickman who was named to the third team in 1998.

Daisley ended the year with 70 unassisted tackles, two forced

fumbles, one fumble recovery and one safety.
