NASH NAMED BIG SKY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK 9/1/2008 OGDEN, Utah — Sacramento State redshirt freshman Zack Nash was named the Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced today. The honor was the first for Nash during his career. A native of Vacaville, Calif., Nash helped lead the Hornet defense in a 45-13 win over Humboldt State on Saturday night. Against the Lumberjacks, Nash had a team-high 10 total tackles, including 2.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks. As a team, Sacramento State limited Humboldt State to just 172 yards of total offense. Portland State’s Bobby McClintock earned the offensive honor after scoring four touchdowns and Northern Arizona’s Robbie Dehaze took home the specials teams award. Sacramento State will play at Colorado State on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PDT from Fort Collins, Colo.
