FOOTBALL SIGNS TYREECE JACKS TO NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT
2/12/2007
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State football team continued to add to its 2007 recruiting class with the signing of Tyreece Jacks, it was announced today. Jacks will enroll at the University in the fall as a junior after spending the past two years at the City College of San Francisco.
“Tyreece was the best JC running back in Northern California,” Sacramento State head coach Marshall Sperbeck said. “He is strong, tough and catches the ball well out of the backfield. He will be able to come in and help immediately.”
As a sophomore, Jacks rushed for 1,103 yards and 10 touchdowns in nine regular season games. He also averaged 122.56 yards per game to rank fifth in the state and 5.90 yards per carry. Those totals earned him first team All-American honors by the JC Athletic Bureau and honorable mention All-America by JC Football.com. Jacks was also a first team all-Region I selection in 2006. He was also a key part in helping CCSF advance to the California State Championship game.
During his freshman season, Jacks tallied 1,151 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns.
According to Rivals.com and Scout.com, the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder, is a three-star recruit who also runs a 4.4 40-yard dash.
Jacks is the 13th player to sign a National Letter of Intent with the Hornets in the last week. A complete list of the signing class is available by selecting the link at the top of the page.
